Sisters Turn a Mother's Search for Gentle Skincare Into Growing Natural Brand Lotion Oil Comfort

SILVER SPRING, Md., September 15, 2026 — When Danella's son developed eczema as a baby, she found herself searching for a gentler way to care for his sensitive skin.

Concerned about the products she was using on him and wanting to explore natural options for his everyday skincare routine, she began learning how to make products herself. That personal search eventually became Lotion Oil Comfort LLC, the natural skincare company Danella now operates alongside her sister, Izetta.

Danella didn't begin as a professional formulator with a finished recipe in hand. She consulted friends who had experience creating natural products, researched ingredients and techniques, and began experimenting with formulations of her own.

As she learned, she also found herself leaning into something familiar from her childhood: a family history of homemade skincare.

Their grandmother created a variety of homemade natural skincare products, including oils, powders, lotions and other preparations, long before Lotion Oil Comfort existed. Rather than simply recreating her grandmother's formulas, Danella drew inspiration from that family tradition while combining information gained in natural-product making, her own research, experimentation, and years of refinement.

What started with one mother's determination to find something she felt comfortable using on her child gradually became something much bigger.

From Caring for Her Son to Caring for Generations

As Danella's knowledge grew, so did the needs she wanted her products to address. Years later, another family member would influence the direction of Lotion Oil Comfort: Danella and Izetta's mother.

Seeing changes in their mother's skin as she aged prompted Danella to turn more of her attention toward mature skincare. That exploration eventually contributed to the development of Lotion Oil Comfort's Face Serum, a concentrated facial oil formulated with carefully selected ingredients chosen to deeply moisturize and nourish the skin while supporting a smoother, more youthful-looking appearance and helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Their mom became one of the family's most meaningful early users of the serum. For the sisters, watching their mother become increasingly comfortable with the appearance of her natural skin, including feeling comfortable going without foundation, made the product especially personal. The Face Serum has since become an important part of the Lotion Oil Comfort collection.

The brand has expanded beyond facial care to include Whipped Body Cream and Beard Oil, allowing the sisters to serve women and men while maintaining the concentrated, small-amount philosophy behind their products.

From Family Experience to Customer Loyalty

What began within the family soon began resonating with customers. Through local markets, in-person events and online sales, Lotion Oil Comfort has built relationships with customers who return for products they have incorporated into their skincare routines. For Danella and Izetta, those repeat customers, and the conversations they have with people who come back to share their experiences, have become an important part of the company's growth.

That personal connection remains central to Lotion Oil Comfort even as the company prepares to reach a larger audience through Amazon. The sisters want customers discovering the brand online to receive the same level of care, presentation and attention that helped build the business face-to-face.

Two Sisters, Different Strengths, One Company

Today, the sisters bring different strengths to Lotion Oil Comfort. Danella remains closely connected to product creation and customers, including meeting shoppers face-to-face at markets and events. Izetta oversees much of the company's operations and growth strategy, including e-commerce, pricing, packaging, shipping, marketplace expansion and brand development.

Together, they are taking a company that grew through personal relationships, local events, repeat customers and word of mouth into its next stage. That next stage includes expanding Lotion Oil Comfort's e-commerce presence and preparing select products for availability through Amazon, beginning with the brand's Face Serum.

For the sisters, the expansion isn't about abandoning the personal story behind the products. It's about allowing people who may never encounter Danella at a local market to discover the brand for themselves.

A Small Brand Preparing for a Bigger Audience

Lotion Oil Comfort's formulas are concentrated, and customers are encouraged to begin with a small amount. The company's philosophy is simple: skincare does not have to be complicated to feel special.

As Lotion Oil Comfort prepares for wider marketplace availability, the sisters are also developing new packaging and gift options designed to introduce more customers to the brand while preserving the personal feel that has been part of the company from the beginning. The journey may now include e-commerce, retail opportunities and national marketplaces, but its starting point remains remarkably simple: a mother looking for a gentler way to care for her little boy's sensitive skin.

What she learned along the way became something she could share.

And what began with her son ultimately became Lotion Oil Comfort.
